When we were in London, U.K. a while ago we came across a college orchestra practicing in the atrium of their college. They played Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture. They had a quartet of strings instead of the whole string section and a bass drum instead of timpani. It was so well done.
This university group does their concert a bit differently. I sure hope they timed this so it wasn't a study time for important exams although the faces of the audience seem to say they are quite happy to be disturbed. I know I would have been. How about you?
